A few years ago, I was still a young student dreaming of a successful career in a popular glossy magazine or the Inquirer. I got half of both. I had the chance to write some stuff for some magazines and Inquirer's lifestyle section. Fast forward 2009. Due to my very demanding job, I've become less active. I can't even remember what my last article was and when it came out.
To find out, I did my favorite 'idle habit': I googled my name to see how popular I've become (haha). I typed my full name. No luck. I typed my name and 'Inquirer' and a few articles came out. Wow. They're still online. Great. One of them actually caught my attention. It's an article I wrote for the call center issue. The webpage where it was posted is certainly not the Inquirer site so I opened the link and I was shocked:
The article was apparently picked up by an Asian wire agency and it was published on The Financial Times! Wow!
Notice how my editor put 'telemarketer' on the title. This was the time when most people thought call center agents do nothing but sell stuff on the phone. The original title I recall was not this.
Argh - I better write a new one. Why not a book? And have Oprah put it on her favorites list?
